Post Traumatric knee pain
After a knee injury there is every chance that the knee will recover, however rest is very important. If pain has become a problem with your everyday life then a visit to a Chiropractor or Physio will help with the diagnosis and treating the injury. If your knee gives way at all or feels unstable the chiropractor may require further investigation with our x ray services and or Mri scanning service. If the knee is stable and it is obvious there is no severe damage then the pain may be to prolonged inflammation of the structures of the knee, this could be due to the injury itself , or changes in the way you have been walking since the injury itself due to compensating while you still are in pain, this is when we might introduce a Podiatrist for a Chiropod assessment. Manual therapy or orthotics may help to reduce scar tissue and improve overall function.
Other painful knee conditons may be due to sudden increase/changes in training or overuse ,
knee alignment or foot problems
hypermobility
